In the hustle and bustle of life, it’s easy to fall into the routine of merely getting by. Every day, we navigate the highs and lows, allowing the monotony of real life to overshadow our joy and sense of purpose. It’s a place where survival mode becomes the norm, and the richness of the life God has gifted us often goes unnoticed.
Maybe this sounds familiar. The blaring alarm clock brings a sense of dread, and the daily grind feels like an unending chore. Perhaps you’ve caught yourself sighing, “Well, I made it through another day.” It’s a sentiment many of us share in the midst of life’s challenges.
But here’s a gentle reminder: God has a bigger, better plan for your life. It’s time to break free from the chains of survival mode and embrace a life filled with purpose, passion and joy.
You might read the previous paragraphs and think, “God might have a plan for someone else, but not me.” And I get it, because I felt that same way for many years. I trudged through my days with no clear purpose and plan, thinking if God really had a plan, He would make it clear to me. So, I just waited. And waited. And waited.
However, the problem wasn’t God; it was me. My perspective and outlook constantly changed depending on who I hung out with that day. I was never the Real me…until a slow change of spending time with God each day entered my life. I finally realized that God does have a plan for everyone else – and for me too!
When you learn to see each new day as an opportunity rather than a chore, it’s amazing how your outlook on life changes. Ephesians 5:15-16 says, Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time…
“…I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]” (John 10:10 AMP). What a wonderful promise! Jesus came in order for you to:
Now, this isn’t to say that we won’t have tough days or challenges along the way. Of course, we will. We all face difficulties, deal with frustrations, and have days that come with unexpected challenges. But you don’t have to let these things steal your joy. With God’s help, you can learn to make the most of each day – to love your life – even in the middle of difficulties.
Don’t allow everyday life’s daily ups and downs or circumstances to steal your joy and sense of purpose. God has a great plan for you – an amazing journey still to come.
He shows His plan and purpose for you day by day, moment by moment. This is why it is so important that we never waste a day of our lives. God wants to do something in you – and through you – today, next week, next month, and next year.
All you have to do is trust Him enough to follow Him each day, one step at a time. And when you do, Psalm 84:11 reminds us, “…The Lord bestows grace and favor and glory! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”
That’s the life God has for you. Not just on certain days but every single day of your life! Today, let this be your turning point. Decide to be the best at getting better. Embrace purpose and passion with open arms. Seek joy in the ordinary, for it is in the everyday moments that the richness of life unfolds. Don’t just survive; thrive. God’s plan for your life is magnificent—let each day be a testament to that truth. Be the best at getting better, and watch as the joy of purposeful living fills your days.
